Glowing skin on your wedding day is a must!.......so, for starters, drink up! Water is your skins best friend. If your skin is not getting the sufficient amount of water, the lack of hydration will present itself by turning your skin dry, tight & flaky. Dry skin has less resilience and is more prone to wrinkling.
As water is lost in large quantities every day, you need to replace it somehow. So lets choose a glass of water over that soda, or coffee & watch your skin transform into a vision of health.
HOW MUCH WATER IS ENOUGH?
Experts recommend eight 8oz glasses a day. (2 litres) This is bare minimum for the average healthy lifestyle. Your body loses water through sweat and urination, so if you live in hotter areas, or are very active you may need to increase your water intake to 10 glasses a day.
If you feel thirsty, your body is showing you that you are dehydrated and need more fluid intake.
Watching your urine color is an easy way to monitor whether you're drinking enough water. Your urine should be clear or a diluted yellow in color. If it's dark yellow or orange, then you're dehydrated and need to drink more.
Don't panic if your urine is a darker yellow first thing in the morning. You've been sleeping for 8 hours with no fluid intake......just begin your day with a nice tall glass of lemon water to get that initial boost!
WHAT'S YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE?
How about your skin care routine? Now is a good time, if you haven't already, to pamper your skin with a good skin care regime.
Keep things simple! Lets face it, we all live super busy life styles, and especially now that you're planning a wedding, you certainly don't have time for a 10 step beauty routine!
Start with the most important essentials: 1.Cleanser, 2.Toner, 3.Moisturizer 4. Night Cream
I would also recommend a deep cleanse once a week by steaming the face with hot compresses for 5 minutes to open the pores, then apply a deep cleansing mask for 15-20 minutes.
Have you seen the Purifying Black Mask that is all over social media right now? It would definitely be a great deep cleansing option. Read my review on this mask here.
ARE YOU GETTING YOUR BEAUTY SLEEP?
We've all heard the phrase 'get your beauty sleep' many times before. But it's called 'beauty sleep' for a reason. Sleep deprivation lowers circulation, which is why you look pale and washed out if you only get a few hours.
Night time is also the best time to rejuvenate your skin. Your skin cells repair and rebuild at all stages of sleep, but the majority of cell turnover and regeneration occurs during deep REM [rapid eye movement] sleep." So for best results—no more late nights!
I'm one of those people who fall asleep within seconds of hitting the pillow. Hmmm, maybe a sign I'm too busy? Anyway, occasionally when I have trouble sleeping, I like to use a sleep mask. Keeping your room dark is essential for a great nights sleep. The pineal gland needs darkness to produce the melatonin that tells your body it's time to sleep. Any light you receive at night can confuse your pineal gland and decreace your body's production of melatonin. Without adequate amounts of melatonin, you could be more prone to sleep disorders, lethargy, depression, disease, and weaken other systems in your body.
If you are diligent to impliment these 3 easy steps into your beauty routine, you'll be sure to have beautiful glowing skin for your wedding day!
1. Drink up
2. Simple skin care regime
3. Beauty sleep
