Congratulations on your engagement! Now it's time to get busy & get gorgeous! Lets go from head to toe to primp & preen for your special day.
We all know that with the endless styling tools we have now a days and are using on a daily basis ...... it can really take a toll on our beautiful locks, leaving it dry & damaged. So lets start NOW to repair from the inside out.
Eat nutritious foods that improve hair health. Foods with antioxidants help fight the damaging effects of the environment, pollution and aging, so stock up on vitamin-rich foods such as berries, oranges, avocados and leafy greens. Also, be sure to eat enough protein, as it is the main component of hair.
Omega 3 is an essential food for healthy hair. Foods like fish, nuts, eggs will give you a good head start.
On the outside, lets do a deep conditioning treatment once every 4 weeks before your wedding to recondition & to bring back your hairs natural lustre & shine.
I've always been inclined to choose more natural products without harmful chemicals. They can also tend to be easier on the pocketbook which can be a huge plus when planning a wedding!
My first recommendation for a deep conditioning treatment is simply Coconut Oil. All you need is a tablespoon of Organic Coconut Oil and a tablespoon of Raw Organic Honey. Mix the ingredients together and as an additional step to help open the hair follicle, heat the mixture on the stove in a small saucepan.
The mask can be applied to wet or dry hair.....although, I've found it's much easier to apply on wet hair. Have a towel around your neck to protect your clothing while applying the mask. Apply generously from top to bottom, concentrating mostly on the ends where most damage occurs. Wrap the hair in a bun, and cover with a shower cap. Let the mask soak in for 30-40 minutes, then wash the mask out with regular shampoo and conditioning routine. Voila! Beautiful, soft, smooth, healthy hair!
If you're not concerned with cost, and just prefer a salon product,.....lets face it, sometimes a ready made jar is so much quicker & convenient than DIY products! Here's a couple hydrating hair masks that I'd highly recommend.
Glowing skin on your wedding day is a must!.......so, for starters, drink up! Water is your skins best friend. If your skin is not getting the sufficient amount of water, the lack of hydration will present itself by turning your skin dry, tight & flaky. Dry skin has less resilience and is more prone to wrinkling
As water is lost in large quantities every day, you need to replace it somehow. So lets choose a glass of water over that soda, or coffee & watch your skin transform into a vision of health.
We've all heard the phrase 'get your beauty sleep' many times before. But it's called 'beauty sleep' for a reason. Sleep deprivation lowers circulation, which is why you look pale and washed out if you only get a few hours. Night time is also the best time to rejuvenate your skin.Your skin cells repair and rebuild at all stages of sleep, but the majority of cell turnover and regeneration occurs during deep REM [rapid eye movement] sleep." So for best results—no more late nights! Since night time is the best time for the skin to repair itself, here's a couple excellent products to help in the process. 1. Bareminerals Pure Transformation Night Treatment 2. Korres Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial
The skin around the eyes is 10 times thinner than the skin on your face, and it ages 36 percent faster. With all those late nights of endless wedding planning , dark circles & puffiness can be a common occurance. Here are a couple natural ways to combat puffy eyes.
Tea Bags: Tea bags can help soothe puffy and irritated eyes. They contain anti-irritant properties that help reduce swelling around your eyes. They can also relieve redness and inflammation.
Soak 2 teabags in hot water for a few minutes, then take them out and let them cool down.
Lie down, put the tea bags over your eyelids and cover them with a soft cloth.
Leave them in place for 10 to 15 minutes.
Repeat a few times a day.
Cucumbers: Chilled cucumbers make a good remedy for treating puffy eyes. The enzymes and the astringent properties in cucumbers help reduce inflammation and help tighten the skin. This remedy will also help get rid of wrinkles and dark circles around your eyes.
Cut a cucumber into thick slices.
Chill the slices in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
Place the cold slices on your eyelids for about 10 minutes or until they become warm.
Repeat the process several times a day.
To add to your daily skin care regime, I would definitely recommend giving your eyes a little extra TLC.
